What we offer

Eight paths toward healing

Through partnerships with trusted community providers, we fund a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, all free to eligible individuals and families across Idaho.

Care tailored to every person

Every person's healing journey is different. That's why we fund a range of therapeutic modalities rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. We are independent of any political or religious affiliation, and we are committed to culturally responsive care that honors the dignity, identity, and lived experience of every person we serve.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy helps individuals process and heal from distressing experiences that continue to affect daily life. Our community providers use evidence-based approaches including EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and Trauma-Focused CBT. Whether trauma stems from childhood adverse experiences, loss, violence, or other life events, trauma therapy creates a safe, structured path toward recovery and lasting resilience. Services are available to children, adolescents, and adults across Idaho.

Child-Centered Play Therapy

Children communicate naturally through play, not words. Child-centered play therapy meets children where they are, using toys, art, and imaginative play as the language of healing. This approach is particularly effective for children experiencing anxiety, trauma, behavioral challenges, grief, and family transitions. Our provider network includes licensed play therapists trained to support children ages 3 through 12 in a warm, non-judgmental environment where healing happens on the child's own terms.

Animal-Assisted Therapy

The bond between humans and animals is a powerful catalyst for healing. Animal-assisted therapy incorporates trained therapy animals into structured clinical sessions facilitated by licensed providers. This modality is especially effective for individuals who struggle with traditional talk therapy, including those with trauma, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, and social difficulties. The presence of an animal can lower physiological stress, increase emotional openness, and create a uniquely safe therapeutic environment.

Walk & Talk Therapy

Walk and talk therapy brings the therapeutic session outdoors, combining the evidence-based benefits of physical movement with professional mental health support. Side-by-side walking reduces the intensity of face-to-face eye contact, often making it easier for clients to open up and explore difficult emotions. Research consistently shows that movement reduces cortisol and increases serotonin, supporting the therapeutic process. This approach is available to adolescents and adults and is particularly effective for anxiety, depression, and processing grief.

Nature-Based Therapy

Nature-based therapy uses the healing environment of the natural world as an intentional part of the therapeutic process. Sessions may take place in outdoor settings such as parks, gardens, forests, or near water, with a licensed provider guiding evidence-based interventions within that environment. Research shows that exposure to nature reduces stress hormones, improves mood, and supports emotional regulation. For many individuals, the natural world offers a sense of safety and perspective that can be difficult to find in a traditional clinical setting.

Family Therapy

Family therapy addresses the relational dynamics, communication patterns, and shared experiences that shape a family system. Working with a licensed family therapist, families develop healthier ways of relating, resolve conflicts, process shared trauma, and rebuild trust. Family therapy is particularly effective during times of transition such as divorce, loss, a child's mental health crisis, or major life changes. Clear Skies funds family therapy sessions through licensed marriage and family therapists and licensed clinical social workers across Idaho.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy supports partners in strengthening communication, rebuilding connection, and navigating challenges together. Whether a couple is facing conflict, recovering from betrayal, managing the impact of mental health challenges, or simply seeking to deepen their relationship, our provider partners offer skilled, compassionate guidance. We fund couples therapy through licensed therapists trained in evidence-based relational approaches including the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

Telehealth

Geography should never be a barrier to mental health care. Our telehealth services connect eligible individuals and families across Idaho with licensed providers via secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions. Telehealth is available for individual therapy, family sessions, and couples counseling. It is particularly valuable for residents of rural communities, individuals with transportation barriers, parents of young children, and anyone whose schedule makes in-person appointments difficult. All telehealth sessions are conducted through encrypted, provider-approved platforms.
